Before the event started, we had a little new addition to the club - welcome Sash! Rather than add people at the open event (as we were full) we used a space we got during the week for Sasha. Then the actual event began. We all gathered on our ponies in nice Summery clothes. You wouldn't even know that it is Winter. The event was hosted by Willow Sparrowluck, so she showed everyone a race track around Fort Pinta. Then everyone lined up and the race began! Well done to everyone who won the race. This race involved at lot of fails and it was followed by some clues to hunt a few helpers down. I hope this event helped with the Summery mood because we have a while to wait!

This evening, Allison Cloudmore hosted a teamwork event. We haven't been in our uniform for a while, so it was great to meet up at Moorland paddock showing off our pride in our club. Everyone was then split into four groups, yellow, red, green and blue. The first game involved having to make the shade that Alli said using our horses. Some were a lot easier than others! The second game was to trot around the arena and when Alli told us to change gait, to change gait. If someone didn't do it, the whole team was out. It was then time for a little hack to the disco to play a mine field game. Certain squares in the disco had bombs on, so if you stood on them you had to start again. The first team to get across were the winners! Overall, green came first - so well done lads! It was a lovely event to come together in a group (although I think we spent most of the time screaming at each other, in a friendly way of course!). Cheers Alli! For everyone on the WL, mails with info about the open event were sent out tonight - so check you mail boxes.
Hugs Li xx On Tuesday, Louisa Bluepie and Alessia Nightknight co hosted a scavenger hunt event together. Everyone met in cross country clothes, safe to run around the countryside in. It had been a while since we'd met at Steve's so it felt good to get our old spot back! Everyone was then split into groups as Pou & Ales explained the game. On their story was the list of things they had to find and when they found it they would send Pou a photo to prove it. It didn't take very long to find everything (well done everyone who managed it) so when they were done, we all met back at the club house for a little fun game just to chill together before the end of the event. G'night lads,
Hugs Li xx Just a tiny bit late... But I'm just getting into getting this up and running again so! We've been trying a new system at open events recently. Instead of having everyone at one event, we've been doing three (or four) different events. Everyone arrives and we split them into groups. This allows for everyone to see each other, which wasn't possible before. This week Paige Waterfall (leader), Allison Cloudmore (RI) and Aricela Riverlake (RI) ran events. In the future, please try to have even numbers of people attending each event! I think people didn't go to the ones that they got told to go to. I wandered around between events (and an old ghost of FR - Ava Northstar -, the previous owner joined me). Everyone was asked to write a paragraph about themselves before doing a quiz of the updates of 2017 to celebrate the old year. At around 7:20, we all met up again for a picnic. Now it was time to decide who was joining and who would be going on the SL. After much debate, it was decided that Ivy Dawnfiled and Molly Silentmoon most deserved the places, so a massive welcome! You can find all of the people on the SL here. But thanks everyone who came, no matter if you joined or made the SL - it was great to meet you. Remember, the more you come the bigger the chance you'll have of moving up on the list.
Hugs Li xx HAPPY 2018! It's been a crazy year in FR. Making the complete transition from one owner to another is always hard and will have it's ups and downs. But we survived it. So many people have left and so many more have joined. Looking back at the members from start of 2017 they're almost completely different but the ethos of the club has remained the same - family. Just a group of friends who hang out together. It's sad when faces go and nice when faces come but each member has bought something to the club. There is so much more to be brought in 2018, including our third birthday. So let's go do this thing! To celebrate our amazing year, everyone in the club has earned a certificate. These should be taken light heatedly! Everyone could earn an award for being amazing members, but that would be a bit boring. So we had to think outside the box. If anyone wants me to send them their certificate in better quality for whatever reason, let me know. Please note, what with so many certificates to do there's a good chance that typos/ mistakes have been made. It took a lot of time to make so y'all have to like them not matter what! Of course, there were two more very...special...awards to give out. So (I suppose) well done to: (If anyone is confused, inside jokes dudes, inside jokes.)
It's officially one month until Christmas! Wow, time flies when you're having fun. It's so strange to think: in a month I'll be writing my "Merry Christmas" blog post. But not quite yet. Today's event was nothing to do with Christmas. It was run by myself, Li, based on a kids games show, Trapped. In the show, six people are taken to the top of a tower. They complete challenges and on each challenge one person is the saboteur. They try to make the team fail. If the team fails, they vote for who they thought the saboteur was, and the person with the most votes is out. If the team wins, the saboteur is out anyway. Since our larger numbers, we had more than one saboteur each round! The team entered the tower... And the challenges began. The first challenge was to find Louisa Bluepie & Caitlin Lightlake hidden around SGEC. Our saboteurs, Becca, Eba & Alli, did their best to stop the team finding them, but it was all over just seconds before the timer! All three were, therefore, out of the game. The next challenge was to find the number plate with 1959 in. Dais, Leah & Brit were in charge of stopping FR from finding it. However, it turns out that FR are either nerds or cheated (and I think we all know which one is more likely) and Willz found the number plate right as the timer went off. Saboteurs once again, lost the game. Now testing their knowledge, they did a quiz about FR. When was I almost removed? Who made the uniform? FR lost this round with 3 wrong questions thanks to our two amazing saboteurs: Dotty & Ana. The team then voted for who they thought the saboteur was. Dotty & Ana didn't even get one vote! Instead, Sab got three and Liz got 2, with a few others getting 1. Sab & Liz were out. Now we headed to Moorland. The next game: tricking two players to come to ML paddock (respecting our fellow players at all times, of course). The saboteurs were Amby, Dotty (again), Kate and Ter. However, FR managed to pass the challenge so all four were out. Due to Dotty doing such a good job, I used my wild card (that I made up on the spot) to bring her back into the game. And so they battled it out in the final round. They were asked questions about the game. Who was out on the first round? Which answer had no votes on question 3? Dotty claimed the first answer, but Ana raced ahead and claimed the next three - making her the winner. Well done Ana! Thanks all for coming & helping out once you were out of the game. I hope to see you at events next week. Oh, hold on, none are planned... We have made a new event submission so if you want to run an event, here is your chance. If you have mailed me before about running an event and haven't run it yet, please fill it out on the form. Hugs, Li xxx
Hello! Long time: no posts. Lots of my social medias have been a bit dead, stuff just happened. But it's all coming back now as I write about an Autumn event. I feel so bad to have missed over a month of blog posts and in that time we've had two open events. I know some people really like having their photo up when they join, so here are the people who joined (with the leadership team) at the last two open events. Anyway, so onto the event. The event hosted tonight was an Autumn event done by Leah Bravestream. Everyone dressed in their Autumn clothes with a couple of members showing off their new arabians (which I personally hate and think should be banned at all events, but some you win and most you lose, right?). After an... eventful start (which involved removing Cait as a joke but for some reason she could still talk on club chat after being removed), we got onto the event. Everyone ditched their horses around the fence and went to the middle to wait for Leah to explain what was happening. In FR, we like to be creative with the ways that we wait... The game was musical horses, the SSO version of musical chairs. Everyone ran around in a circle: And when Leah said go, they ran to any horse that wasn't their own. Only one person per horse was allowed and there was always at least one more person than horse. People that didn't find a horse, were out and formed a massive mess waiting for the winners to be crowned: After an intense final, the winners were Louisa Bluepie, Sabrina Nightborn and Willow Sparrowsmith. Everyone gathered back into the middle for an explanation of the last game. In the last game, in small groups, Leah would hide and then send a photo of the map over Skype. The first one to find her won! Thanks for a fantastic event everyone! I hope to see y'all at the medieval event tomorrow.
Hugs, Li xx P.s. I think that, as it's the 11th of November, I should add a little note about the soldiers who have given their lives to war. Personally, I think war is pointless. In my opinion, people should refuse to fight, to kill, and so the political leaders would have no pawns to play with. But we don't live in a world like that so I really do give my love to everyone whose lives were lost or who has lost a loved one or lost anything really to the absolute horror of war. Despite how much I disagree with war, everyone can spend at least a moment thinking about the brave men and women who gave their lives for what they, or at least their country, believed in. I'm so thankful that I have never been involved with anything like that and I can only hope thank I won't ever be. Thanks for reading. Happy Birthday SSO! Today's open event was in honor of SSO's sixth birthday so we all met in our blue clothes in the normal place, ready for the open event. Caitlin Lightlake was running this event, so we hacked to the Riding Hall, ditched our horses and just generally took over arena A. Cait then asked us questions about SSO. They were multiple choice questions so you had to run to the letter that the answer corresponded to in 10 seconds. The first game ended in one round and was won by Eva Frogcake and the second game (which was a lot longer) was won by Britney Sharkhaven - well done lads. It wouldn't be a birthday event without having some cake and siting at the table. What we didn't expect is that the table was actually too long for everyone to sit on! You can't see but down the end everyone is squashing each other like mad. It was then time for votes, four people were voted to be added to the shortlist, five people to be moved and and two people were voted to join. So a massive welcome to Ursula Moonwood and Ashley Easthunter - you've been in the club two days now and I can honestly say that you fit in perfectly and we are all so happy to welcome you in the Frostie family! Once the open event was over, it was time for some FR tradition. In 2015, Ava Northstar took a photo of FR at the birthday cake (see bottom right). In 2016, she did it again (see top left). And this year, 2017, it was my turn. I think that these photos illustrate the club perfectly. How it hatched and grew under V's ownership and will continue to grow under mine. I'm not just talking about the amount of people at events, as that hasn't changed since 2016, I'm talking about the way that our family grows. Once a Frostie, always a Frostie. Regardless of where or why you go, FR will always be a part of you because that's what we always have been and that's what we always will be.
There was much anticipation for tonight's meeting because everyone wanted to know what it was about. So, they all gathered at the Club Hall ready to listen to the what I had to say. If you're not in FR, I'd say that you don't need to read the next part! Being quiet in photos - being quiet means being quiet. No emotes, talking on say. Spamming people that come online, saying weba, brb or back all count as talking!
Turning up on time and organized for events - read the calendar and plan ahead. If it says a certain horse and you own one - ride it! I don't care if it's red face and only level 2. No masks - this includes anything that you put on your face (small glasses are allowed) because it's become a bit of a thing to wear big masks to events and it's making everything look messy. Listening to the event host - quiet means quiet! It's more fun for everyone if you're quiet. After the seriousness, we went on a little hack and everyone was given a NPC. They then had to roast each other's NPC. If someone roasted them, they had to roast them back - but everyone just wanted to insult Mr Kembell! It's that time again when it's time for an open event! We started off in our traditional lines at Dew's Paddock. Then, we decided to get into a circle and play a game of splat. I would say someone's name and that person had to dismount from their horse and the people either side had to say "splat". The last person to say "splat" was out. Well done to everyone who survived! We then all met at Jarlaheim to organise ourselves into groups where everyone had to make a play about the Toothfairy being kidnapped. We only had time to watch two sadly, but I'm sure they were all good. Then, it was time for the worse part of the event, time to choose who to join. I know it's why most (if not all) of the people come to the events, but it's so hard to meet about 15 amazing people, who all seem so lovely, and then have to say to most of them "sorry you're not joining today". We thought hard though and, so, the new members of FR are: Eva Frogcake Lucy Applestone April Oakfall (who for various reasons couldn't be in the photo below) Five people were added to the shortlist and six people moved up on it! To everyone who didn't make the shortlist, or didn't get to join this time, please bear in mind that the three who joined have been to multiple events and even then they were very close with the club. The only way I can promise you a place is if you keep coming until the time is right. I understand it takes a while but good things come to those who wait!
