There are so many interesting horses on the island of Jorvik that Olivia Deerdotter decided to organise an event on them all. The dress code was to come 'dressed as a horse' which most people did (with varying degrees of accuracy) but I think we can safely say, the worst outfit goes to the person who came as a dog... The game was simple. Dotty would ask a question and everyone would run to her. The first there would get to answer the question first and if they got it right they got a point. If they got it wrong, the second person would get a chance to answer and so on. One of the new editors to Frosty Roses YouTube, Sophia Dawnmountain (aka Ruby), has made a wonderful video all about the event so please do watch and give our relaunched channel a subscribe (self promo tehe)! Daisy Mysteryriver hosted a very classic event, a newb event. We all gathered in Moorland in the clothes that we might have worn when we started in the game: Then Daisy explained the game to everyone. In teams, they had to trick other players to come to the arena (whilst being totally respectful or our fellow players, of course). The winning team would be the one with the most players at the end. After explaining to the other players that they'd been a part of our event, we all headed off for a few more games (which I don't have any photos of). Personally, I think FR are all newbs anyway, but it was still nice to have an event in Moorland for the first time in a while!
Hugs Li xx I have just made a list of all of the blog posts I need to catch up on and it has come to the grand total of five - so I better get blogging! As it's FR's birthday, I'm going to try to get as many done as I possibly can. So, about half a month ago, Sylvie Birchstar hosted a Blind Date event. It happened very close to Valentine's day and was one of our Valentine's Day themed events. Instead of a line, everyone decided to be a bit ambitious and make a curve. Everyone was then randomly divided up into pairs: It was time to make our dates. We all had to make a short drama piece about our date and then perform it in front of everyone else. Then, Starry decided on a winner. She chose myself (Li) and Allison Cloudmore for our scene about shooting Alli's fox... Well done everyone! Thanks for coming everyone, lovely event Starry. (Get it? LOVEly.)
Hugs, Li xx This is very late and I'm currently playing catch-up on all of the FR blog posts, but I will get all of the events blogged asap! The day after Valentine's day, we did our regular open events. Everyone was split into three groups (lead by Aricela Riverlake, Allison Cloudmore and Eva Lightningbrooke) and came dressed in Valentine's day themed clothes. There were a few Valentine's games in the groups (as well as normal introductions) before everyone met up at the end, in Fort Pinta, for a hack. We settled down, all on top of each other, for a picnic near Silverglade Equestrian Center while FR made the difficult decisions about who would be joining. It's always really hard but we try to get there in the fairest way possible, as well as the best way for all involved! Lots of people got onto the shortlist, joining list and also moved up on both of those but the 2 joining today were Connie Ravenwood and Alice Pinesmith. So many welcome hugs you two! I hope to see everyone at the next open event.
Hugs Li xx In FR, a lot of members ride in real life but most of our events are non-realistic style riding. However, yesterday, Lauren Windlee hosted a realistic styled event (with a very strict dress code). We all met at the club hall. It was time for a quiz on some horse knowledge. Some questions were easy and some much harder! After that was done, it was time for a hack to the riding hall where we got the classic event photo. Then FR did some basic dressage, here they are learning a three loop serpentine: Lovely event Birchy, thank you, and thank you everyone for coming. The fabulous Sophia Dawnmountain also filmed the event if you want to watch that here: Hugs
Li xx When Pandoria came out, I just knew that FR had to have an event there. Luckily, Elizabeth Ponyson and Willow Sparrowluck decided to run an event there so everyone met in purple and pink clothes (showing off their starters) to start the event. The first game was simple. Everyone had two minutes to hid and then the "alien" of Pandoria came to abduct people. If you were abducted, you were out. Full marks for my hiding place though... The second game was similar but this time the players had to find Liz and Willz without being tagged by the aliens. However, lots of people ended up finding them before the game had even started... Only in FR, only in FR! Great event, cheers Liz and Willz.
Hugs Li xx A few days ago, the remake of the North Swedish horse came out, so it was time for FR to make the already beautiful horse make it look even more beautiful at a little photo shoot together. Then we decided to test it out with the wild horse feature. Has anyone else noticed that these horses move around so much so it's impossible to get a nice picture? Recently, we've been adding people outside of open events (because spaces are frequently becoming rarer, we are just giving them out when they appear) so we surprised Brooke Oaklund and Annie Cloudrider with a space each! A massive welcome hug to both of you. Shortlist and interest list have now been updated. Expect Valentine's open event details to be coming through to all on the interest list soon.
Li xx On Saturday, we had a joint event with Jarls Hunters. The owner contacted me asking if I was interested in having a joint event with them and I thought it sounded like a good idea. Too often clubs come together to argue, rather than have a good time. So, having a good time is exactly what we did! We met up in the riding hall. We decided to have a chilled event (no games because of competitiveness). So the Frosties set up a Skype call together within the event because we weren't doing anything that required too much focus. We had a hack around the island through Forgotten Fields together in a big group. Then we all sat down for a picnic. I must say, red and purple go great together! As our first photo couldn't get everyone in, we got another photo at South Hoof all together looking completely awesome (as always). Then we took the ferry to the disco to dance the night away! Thank you Jarls Hunters for a lovely event, it was great meeting you all. Also cheers FR for being your normal idiotic selves. I hope that everyone had a great time.
Hugs Li xx Hello everyone! Another week means another open event and so here it is! As always, everyone met at Dews Farm before being split into three separate events hosted by Caitlin Lightlake, Paige Waterfall and Allison Cloudmore. Each event followed the same activities! After each WL member introduced themselves, Olivia Deerdotter, Sabrina Nightborn and Eva Lightningbrooke hosted some games before we all met at Silverglade Village for a hack. In line with tradition, after the hack it was time to sit down and have a little picnic while FR told me who they wanted in the club and I started to decide who we were adding. Having so many amazing people at the event, it's always so hard to choose who to add. But these two were very popular in the club and have been trying to join for a while so welcome Regan Purpleborn and Nikolett Highfoot! The shortlist will be updated soon. Even if you didn't make it onto the shortlist the only way to get on is to keep coming - you will in the end. Thank you all for coming, I always really enjoy the open events and I hope other people do as well.
Hugs Li xx One of FR's favourite pass times is climbing. Climbing anything! So one of our lovely members, Ana Youngwright, hosted a climbing event. We all met in uniform on our favourite horses for climbing: Then it was simple. Everyone was divided into groups before they started the climb up to the tower (check out Li Silentland YouTube channel for a tutorial on the climb). There was a lot of rage quitting, falling and failing, but slowly the Frosties reached the top! Thank you all for coming, I hope you had a great time.
Remember to smile! Hugs, Li xx |
