In FR, a lot of members ride in real life but most of our events are non-realistic style riding. However, yesterday, Lauren Windlee hosted a realistic styled event (with a very strict dress code). We all met at the club hall. It was time for a quiz on some horse knowledge. Some questions were easy and some much harder! After that was done, it was time for a hack to the riding hall where we got the classic event photo. Then FR did some basic dressage, here they are learning a three loop serpentine: Lovely event Birchy, thank you, and thank you everyone for coming. The fabulous Sophia Dawnmountain also filmed the event if you want to watch that here: Hugs

When Pandoria came out, I just knew that FR had to have an event there. Luckily, Elizabeth Ponyson and Willow Sparrowluck decided to run an event there so everyone met in purple and pink clothes (showing off their starters) to start the event. The first game was simple. Everyone had two minutes to hid and then the "alien" of Pandoria came to abduct people. If you were abducted, you were out. Full marks for my hiding place though... The second game was similar but this time the players had to find Liz and Willz without being tagged by the aliens. However, lots of people ended up finding them before the game had even started... Only in FR, only in FR! Great event, cheers Liz and Willz.
Hugs Li xx On Saturday, we had a joint event with Jarls Hunters. The owner contacted me asking if I was interested in having a joint event with them and I thought it sounded like a good idea. Too often clubs come together to argue, rather than have a good time. So, having a good time is exactly what we did! We met up in the riding hall. We decided to have a chilled event (no games because of competitiveness). So the Frosties set up a Skype call together within the event because we weren't doing anything that required too much focus. We had a hack around the island through Forgotten Fields together in a big group. Then we all sat down for a picnic. I must say, red and purple go great together! As our first photo couldn't get everyone in, we got another photo at South Hoof all together looking completely awesome (as always). Then we took the ferry to the disco to dance the night away! Thank you Jarls Hunters for a lovely event, it was great meeting you all. Also cheers FR for being your normal idiotic selves. I hope that everyone had a great time.
Hugs Li xx Hello everyone! Another week means another open event and so here it is! As always, everyone met at Dews Farm before being split into three separate events hosted by Caitlin Lightlake, Paige Waterfall and Allison Cloudmore. Each event followed the same activities! After each WL member introduced themselves, Olivia Deerdotter, Sabrina Nightborn and Eva Lightningbrooke hosted some games before we all met at Silverglade Village for a hack. In line with tradition, after the hack it was time to sit down and have a little picnic while FR told me who they wanted in the club and I started to decide who we were adding. Having so many amazing people at the event, it's always so hard to choose who to add. But these two were very popular in the club and have been trying to join for a while so welcome Regan Purpleborn and Nikolett Highfoot! The shortlist will be updated soon. Even if you didn't make it onto the shortlist the only way to get on is to keep coming - you will in the end. Thank you all for coming, I always really enjoy the open events and I hope other people do as well.
Hugs Li xx One of FR's favourite pass times is climbing. Climbing anything! So one of our lovely members, Ana Youngwright, hosted a climbing event. We all met in uniform on our favourite horses for climbing: Then it was simple. Everyone was divided into groups before they started the climb up to the tower (check out Li Silentland YouTube channel for a tutorial on the climb). There was a lot of rage quitting, falling and failing, but slowly the Frosties reached the top! Thank you all for coming, I hope you had a great time.
Remember to smile! Hugs, Li xx Before the event started, we had a little new addition to the club - welcome Sash! Rather than add people at the open event (as we were full) we used a space we got during the week for Sasha. Then the actual event began. We all gathered on our ponies in nice Summery clothes. You wouldn't even know that it is Winter. The event was hosted by Willow Sparrowluck, so she showed everyone a race track around Fort Pinta. Then everyone lined up and the race began! Well done to everyone who won the race. This race involved at lot of fails and it was followed by some clues to hunt a few helpers down. I hope this event helped with the Summery mood because we have a while to wait!
This evening, Allison Cloudmore hosted a teamwork event. We haven't been in our uniform for a while, so it was great to meet up at Moorland paddock showing off our pride in our club. Everyone was then split into four groups, yellow, red, green and blue. The first game involved having to make the shade that Alli said using our horses. Some were a lot easier than others! The second game was to trot around the arena and when Alli told us to change gait, to change gait. If someone didn't do it, the whole team was out. It was then time for a little hack to the disco to play a mine field game. Certain squares in the disco had bombs on, so if you stood on them you had to start again. The first team to get across were the winners! Overall, green came first - so well done lads! It was a lovely event to come together in a group (although I think we spent most of the time screaming at each other, in a friendly way of course!). Cheers Alli! For everyone on the WL, mails with info about the open event were sent out tonight - so check you mail boxes.
Hugs Li xx On Tuesday, Louisa Bluepie and Alessia Nightknight co hosted a scavenger hunt event together. Everyone met in cross country clothes, safe to run around the countryside in. It had been a while since we'd met at Steve's so it felt good to get our old spot back! Everyone was then split into groups as Pou & Ales explained the game. On their story was the list of things they had to find and when they found it they would send Pou a photo to prove it. It didn't take very long to find everything (well done everyone who managed it) so when they were done, we all met back at the club house for a little fun game just to chill together before the end of the event. G'night lads,
Hugs Li xx Just a tiny bit late... But I'm just getting into getting this up and running again so! We've been trying a new system at open events recently. Instead of having everyone at one event, we've been doing three (or four) different events. Everyone arrives and we split them into groups. This allows for everyone to see each other, which wasn't possible before. This week Paige Waterfall (leader), Allison Cloudmore (RI) and Aricela Riverlake (RI) ran events. In the future, please try to have even numbers of people attending each event! I think people didn't go to the ones that they got told to go to. I wandered around between events (and an old ghost of FR - Ava Northstar -, the previous owner joined me). Everyone was asked to write a paragraph about themselves before doing a quiz of the updates of 2017 to celebrate the old year. At around 7:20, we all met up again for a picnic. Now it was time to decide who was joining and who would be going on the SL. After much debate, it was decided that Ivy Dawnfiled and Molly Silentmoon most deserved the places, so a massive welcome! You can find all of the people on the SL here. But thanks everyone who came, no matter if you joined or made the SL - it was great to meet you. Remember, the more you come the bigger the chance you'll have of moving up on the list.
Hugs Li xx Hello! Long time: no posts. Lots of my social medias have been a bit dead, stuff just happened. But it's all coming back now as I write about an Autumn event. I feel so bad to have missed over a month of blog posts and in that time we've had two open events. I know some people really like having their photo up when they join, so here are the people who joined (with the leadership team) at the last two open events. Anyway, so onto the event. The event hosted tonight was an Autumn event done by Leah Bravestream. Everyone dressed in their Autumn clothes with a couple of members showing off their new arabians (which I personally hate and think should be banned at all events, but some you win and most you lose, right?). After an... eventful start (which involved removing Cait as a joke but for some reason she could still talk on club chat after being removed), we got onto the event. Everyone ditched their horses around the fence and went to the middle to wait for Leah to explain what was happening. In FR, we like to be creative with the ways that we wait... The game was musical horses, the SSO version of musical chairs. Everyone ran around in a circle: And when Leah said go, they ran to any horse that wasn't their own. Only one person per horse was allowed and there was always at least one more person than horse. People that didn't find a horse, were out and formed a massive mess waiting for the winners to be crowned: After an intense final, the winners were Louisa Bluepie, Sabrina Nightborn and Willow Sparrowsmith. Everyone gathered back into the middle for an explanation of the last game. In the last game, in small groups, Leah would hide and then send a photo of the map over Skype. The first one to find her won! Thanks for a fantastic event everyone! I hope to see y'all at the medieval event tomorrow.
Hugs, Li xx P.s. I think that, as it's the 11th of November, I should add a little note about the soldiers who have given their lives to war. Personally, I think war is pointless. In my opinion, people should refuse to fight, to kill, and so the political leaders would have no pawns to play with. But we don't live in a world like that so I really do give my love to everyone whose lives were lost or who has lost a loved one or lost anything really to the absolute horror of war. Despite how much I disagree with war, everyone can spend at least a moment thinking about the brave men and women who gave their lives for what they, or at least their country, believed in. I'm so thankful that I have never been involved with anything like that and I can only hope thank I won't ever be. Thanks for reading. |
