Pre-event
Anyone in Frosty Roses can host an event for the club - this will also positively affect your rank!
Thinking about running an event? Well first think of what to do in the event (having a clear plan helps you run a smooth event).
Feel free to contact Li or the leaders if you need any help with the ideas.
- Aim for an hour/ an hour and a half event (longer events might feel tiring and boring for the club members).
- Plan the event. Think about the fact that it will take time to explain the details. Think of the easiest way to give instructions. Think any possible problems or difficulties that might occur during your event.
- To run an event, fill out this form
- Here are some tips:
- Day (tell us which days of the week you can do. We never run events on Wednesday. The exact date of your event will be discussed with Li.)
- Time (It is the best to start between 6:30 & 7:30 as the club is then most active)
- Dress code (it is good to wear uniform but for some events this may be different. We love themed events!)
- Name of event (make it funky, anything you think will describe your event the best!)
- Meeting place (choose a well known place with a trailer nearby or a place which the club members can find easily with some easy instructions).
Event day
- Make sure you are online at least 15 minutes before the event and start to gather people (coming online just before the start won't give you time to prepare and the start of the event will become rushed!).
- Make sure people on Instagram and Whatsapp chats know about the event - if you aren't in these chats, Li will remind them.
- When people start to arrive make them line up or gather them around in a way that works for you!
- If you want, friend chat people online who haven't come and who haven't informed you a reason for not attending.
- Check if anyone is yet to arrive before starting the event - wait for everyone who has informed they're on their way!
-For taking pictures it is best for you and Li (or a leader) to take one and then share this with anyone else who wants to post it, as it will save a lot of time and make more room for the fun stuff!
- Start the event!
- Tell people to be quiet and to wait while you type (it makes things easier), or have someone else help you out with this (asking a friend normally works best).
- Explain as simply as you can, it will usually take a few goes so answer questions and explain many times - patience is the key!
- Run the event in a calm, polite manner! Be respectful to outsiders interested in what you are doing.
- Close the event by thanking everyone.
